Do you love working in clay? Join us in a creative environment and practice your skills in both hand-building and on the wheel. Project ideas will be customized to adapt to the interests of each student and we encourage you to bring in your own ideas as well. Pieces will be created and glazed.

Art Inspired by Nature

Join us for a fun indoor and outdoor art experience where students will be lead through imaginative explorations in a variety of media and techniques, to create art inspired by nature. 

Introductions will be made to a new process every week through the elements of art and connecting to the natural world. Materials and techniques will include keeping an art journal as well as experimenting in paint, pastels, clay, collage, sculpture, and more! At the end of each session children will bring home their unique works of art.

Do you love working in clay and looking for a fun way to be creative on Friday's after school? Join us in an inspiring environment for our six session Friday after-school series and practice your skills in both hand-building and throwing on the wheel. Project ideas will be customized to adapt to the interests of each participant and we encourage you to bring in your own ideas as well! 

Ages 8-16, an $18 material fee for one 25-bag of clay will be added to the tuition. 
*Students are asked to bring a light nut-free snack and smock/apron or oversized t-shirt. 
Additional clay purchases as well as optional glazing and firing fees can be arranged for an additional fee.

During this 6 week course, students will learn a variety of building techniques including both hand building as well as wheel-thrown pieces. All levels of skill are welcome and projects will be customized to adapt to the interests of each student. This course is open to students ages 8-16. Twenty five pounds of clay is included in the materials fee, additional clay purchases and glazing and firing can be arranged for an additional fee.

Parent/Child Adventures in Clay

Join us for a fun and creative experience as we explore adventures in clay! This class focuses on creativity and the art making process. Through observation, attention to detail and our imaginations, we will explore space, shapes, colors and more. Techniques and concepts incorporate the use of problem solving, cognitive and cooperative learning techniques. Childrens' literature books are the focus on a theme such as insects, nature, animals, seasons landscapes, etc. This class requires the parent/caregiver's attendance and participation. 
*Clay, firing and glazing are included in the material fee.

Family Open Clay Studio

6 Week Session

Time: 3:45-5:15pm

Current or recent ceramics students of Brookfield Craft Center are welcome to purchase clay studio time by joining the Family Open Studio Program in the Clay Studio. Current BCC members are also eligible to participate if they possess basic ceramic skills. (Not a Member? Click here to learn more or sign up.) During the Family Open Studio sessions, the studio is open for children and adults to work on the wheel or hand build at a table workspace. Enjoy this time to work on class projects and practice techniques. Low fire and cone 6 clay will be available for purchase, and additional fees will be charged for pieces that are to be glazed and fired. Children ages 6 and under must be accompanied by an adult.

Looking to make fun and unique gifts for the holidays? Join us for a 4-class pottery series that will be focused on making handmade gifts for those you love for the holidays! Both hand-building and throwing on the wheel will be explored. Bring your ideas and imagination! Project ideas and demos will also be provided. These class sessions are open to students ages 8-16; an $18 material fee will be added to the tuition. *Students are asked to bring a light nut-free snack. *Pieces can be fired and glazed in time for pick up by 12/23. Additional clay purchases as well as optional glazing and firing fees can be arranged for an additional fee.

Art Adventures and Clay Play!

Grades K-2

Join us for an exciting four-week series and explore a variety of media and techniques inspired by the work of world-renowned artists. Each week you go on an art adventure through storybooks and process art, using paint, pastels, clay, collage, sculpture, and more! At the end of each session, you take home your masterpiece inspired by a specific artist.

 

Please contact me if you have a request for a workshop idea or if you would like to host a class/workshop in your studio or home. I have previously taught several workshops based on the art of relaxation, stress relief for teens and adults as well as expressive arts. I am happy to collaborate!
